Omarine
Picpoul de Pinet
Picpoul
is one of the lesser Rhone varietals. It is commonly used to add
acidity to Chateauneuf-du-Pape bt also makes a terrific dry white wine
on its own. This Picpoul is from 45 years old vines and has also won
numerous awards over the years.
Petit Devois Roussane Marsanne
Coteaux du Languedoc
Petit Devois Syrah Grenache
Coteaux du Languedoc
Chateau Lamy
Corbieres
Once
the property of the Archibishops of Narbonne, these vineyards date to
the 14th Century. The vineyard is located on a clay limestone terrace
with small pebbles. This wine is a classic blend of Mourvedre, Syrah,
Grenache and some incredibly old Carignan vines. Chateau Lamy produces
a classic Languedoc red - robust, earthy, and full bodied.
Chateau Viran Cuvee Gipsy
Provence AOC
Ermitage du Pic Saint-Loup
Coteaux du Languedoc
Dark
garnet in color. Fragrant black pepper dominates the aroma, but there's
simple, fresh red fruit to back it up. The same on the palate, pepper
and tart red fruit, textured and "chewy," a bit rustic but very
appealing, flavors nicely balanced with snappy acidity and soft
tannins. A standard Pic St. Loup blend of Syrah (55%), Grenache (35%)
and Mourvedre (10%), it's produced by the firm Ravaille Freres.
Domaine Du Mas Rouge
Muscat de Rivesaltes
Flight ($10.00)
Domaine Terrebrune
Bandol Red
Georges
Delille created this Domaine in 1963 on the coast of Provence.
Traditional, organic viticulture practices are employed with the
philosophy of "expressing the best of the land while preserving all its
nobleness". This wine is a blend of 80% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache and 5%
Cinsault. and is aged in large oak barrels for 18 months.
Clos Saint Magdelaine
Cassis Blanc
This
Cassis appellation has been planted to vines over 1,000 years! In 1920,
the Zafiropolo family purchased this property which was built in
1880.
Robert
Parker has lauded this producer, a Sack-Zafiropoulo family enterprise
for over 80 years. These vineyards overlook the sea and appropriately
produce a mix of white varietals ideally complimenting sea food.
45% Marsanne, 25% Ugni blanc, 25% Clairette and 5% Sauvignon Blanc.
Domaine Mas de Daumas Gassac 2005
"The Lafitte Rothschild of Languedoc" Dixit R. Parker Jr.
Mas Gabinelle
Faugeres 2003
This
wine received the Coup de Coeur in the Hachette Guide for 2001, and it
is a fantastic wine. The secret of Faugères is that the wines grow on
schist and this always makes delicious wines. This domaine has only 12
hectares and produces only 20,000 bottles. The Mas Gabinele is 30%
Syrah, 30% Grenache, 30% Old Carignan, and 10% Mourvèdre.
Domaine le Sang des Cailloux
Vacqueyras
The
name means "blood of the stones" which aptly describes this very old
vineyard. Relying only on organic farming techniques, Serge Ferigoule
has been raising the bar for the quality and power of Vacqueyras wines
for the past 15 years.
The vines are 50 + year of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Mourverdre.
