Saint-Estephe 2003
Very,
very pure with plum, currant and light
spices. Full-bodied, with racy, refined
tannins and a long, caressing finish.
Pretty and firm. Best after 2010.

Prieure
de Cenac - Cahors 2000
Fragrant
aroma of red fruit, meat and spice with
a deep, intense core of flavors to match.
This full-bodied red is well-structured,
with fine-grained tannins, and a finish
filled with coffee and spice. Best from
2006 through 2010.

Riesling
- Willamette Valley
Looking
for a stylish, elegant, low-alcohol, off-dry
Riesling? Here it is. Under 11% alcohol,
this floral, almost delicate wine is a
breath of sweet air. A perfect mix of
honeydew, Asian pear and ripe apple, it
holds down center court with a delicious
liveliness. Flavors extend, lightly kissed
with honey, into a lingering, clean and
sweetly fresh finish. - P.G. (11/15/2007)

Shiraz
2004
Veteran
winemaker Nick Goldschmidt is based in
Healdsburg, California, as head of winemaking
for Allied Domecq, but manages to find
enough time to turn out this fine example
of McLaren Vale Shiraz. The texture is
lush and creamy, while the flavors run
the gamut from dark mixed fruit to chocolate
and spice. It firms up a bit on the finish,
so while this is approachable now, it
should easily age through 2015
